Sri Revanna Siddeshwara Betta is about 65 km from Bangalore. From Ramanagaram take left turn towards Kanakpura. Siddheswara Betta is 13 km from Ramanagaram situated near Avverahalli along Ramanagara-Kanakapura Road. While visiting Ramadevara betta, one may plan to visit Revana Siddeshwara betta on the same day.
Sri Revanna Siddheshwar betta is famous for Siddheshwara temple, popular among the trekkers and rock climbers. There are totally 3 temples in the hill complex– at the top is Sri Revanna Siddeshwara temple, Bheemeshwara and Renukamba temple at the base.
Revanna Siddeshwara Betta is dedicated to Jagadguru Sri Renukacharya founder of Veerashaiva Siddantha (Shaiva dharma). Renukacharya was ordered to re-incarnate on Earth by Lord Shiva to stem the dwindling of Bhakti of the earthlings. Renukacharya went about his business spreading bhakti and installing Lingas (about 3 crores) wherever he went – even as far as Lanka. Renukacharya now became Revannasiddeshwara and during one of his missions, lived in a hill called Averahalli, which is today’s Revannasiddeshwara Betta in Ramnagara.
There is another place called Kengal hanumantharaaya temple which is also near to ramanagara City. Besides Janapadaloka and Kanwa resorvoir are nearby places which may be combined on a single trip.
